Tangerine Audio K-U-V Precision Sub
The Tangerine Audio K-U-V Precision Sub is a high-grade aluminium replacement sub-chassis for Linn Sondek LP12 turntables. It boasts improved sound quality through features like machined grooves to reduce resonance and precisely machined contact points for the bearing and arm board. This tighter coupling reportedly minimizes unwanted vibrations and delivers a richer, more robust sound that stays true to the LP12's sonic character. The K-U-V also offers the flexibility of using different arm mounts in the future.

Tangerine Audio - K-U-V Precision Sub
Designed to be used with the standard Linn arm boards.
Supplied with torx wood screws, TA machined washers and Nylock nuts.
Machined from a solid billet of high-grade aluminium it features the signature Tangerine grooves, designed to break up standing waves. Critically, there are three machined lands at the two most important elements of the player: namely,
where the bearing and arm board are mounted
Flat surface to flat surface gives a poor interface, the use of lands is highly effective for a superior coupling, resulting in better performance and sound quality.
There are also advantages in having the arm board a separate entity - there is far less chatter able to be transmitted, unlike when the arm is directly coupled to a large piece of metal.
The result is a meaty robust sound that is in keeping with the LP12 sonic signature.
There is flexibility for changing to different arm mounts in the future and a competitive price makes for an attractive upgrade.
