On the shop stereo - Aphex Twin
Dean has just returned from Utah, in the shadows of the Wasatch Mountains, where Wilson Audio manufacture their iconic loudspeakers. They recently launched the remastered WATT/Puppy and invited Dean to show the dedication & engineering prowess behind the construction of their 50th Anniversary edition. We'll have a pair in Crimson Red for demonstration very soon! You’ll experience the classic Wilson traits of musicality, detail and impactful bass. It's also the ideal opportunity to buy them, as we can offer a healthy trade-in value for your current high-end loudspeakers. Give us a call for a quote.
Over the Summer, we've added several new brands to the shop. These include Shunyata, Stillpoints, Acustica Applicata, and Entreq. They all create audio products that help 'lower the noise floor' - reducing vibrations & eliminating any electrical noise getting into your system. Shunyata is leading the way in this area, and using their cables or power distributors can markedly improve your listening experience - getting you closer to the music you love.
Another new product we're super excited about is the Ramar Record Brush. It's handcrafted in Berlin by Rangel Vaser and comes in 6 variations. Rangel wanted to design a brush that removes dust & dirt from your vinyl, whilst also being a beautiful artefact that can become part of your daily listening ritual. This week, Ramar released JEWEL, a unique record stabiliser. It's dubbed a "Resonance Control Concept" and is a work of art that will also help your turntable cartridge extract every ounce of detail from the grooves of your records.
Lastly, we'd love for you to join us at the shop on Sat. 28th September (10am-5pm). We're hosting the UK launch of OePhi loudspeakers from Denmark. We'll have listening sessions of the entire range throughout the day. The founder of OePhi, Joakim Juhl, will be on hand to answer your questions and offer insight. Click here for more info and to reserve your free place. It'll be great to see you there!
Hope to see you soon,
Dean & Alex

Ramar record brushes - Handmade in Berlin
We love these handcrafted vinyl record brushes, from Berlin-based Ramar. They combine carbon fibres and goat hair with hand-carved wood and carefully remove every particle of dust and dirt from your vinyl.
By cleaning your records you can drastically improve the sound quality of your hi-fi. Even brand-new, shrink-wrapped records will sound better after a clean!
Each Ramar record brush comes in a beautifully milled case, with a unique serial number, and an integrated needle brush to remove the build-up of grime from your stylus.
Make it part of your daily listening ceremony.
Music & Culture
Music on the shop stereo
Below is a selection of current favourites playing in the demo room:
1. Peace Orchestra - “Peace Orchestra” LP
Next year, Kruder & Dorfmeister are touring the masterful K&D Sessions with a live band. However, it’s Peter Kruder's often-overlooked side project that we’ve been soaking up over the Summer.
2. Aphex Twin - “#19”
Originally omitted from Aphex’s Selected Ambient Works Volume II, a new expanded edition of the album released this month by Warp Records, now includes this sublime tune. 10 minutes and 14 seconds of absolute bliss.
3. Jon Hopkins - “Ritual” LP
A soothing melodic ambient mini-album is born from a soundtrack Hopkins made for Dreamachine: a flicking light installation that created “stroboscopically induced visual hallucinations.”
4. Glass Beams - “Mahal” EP
These enigmatic Melbourne-based instrumentalists make mesmerising textural funk. Reminds us of Khruangbin & Ernest Ranglin.
Played on: Rega NAIA Turntable, Sugden Signature A21SE Integrated Amp & Harbeth SHL5plusXD Loudspeakers, Stillpoints isolation, and Shunyata Everest.
