On the shop stereo - The Smile & Nils Frahm
We're now entering the darkest part of the year, the perfect time to find solace in our music collections and seek a sense of calm in our listening spaces.
This month, we have a special feature on audio products to help you 'lower the noise floor' of your hi-fi - reducing vibrations & eliminating any electrical noise getting into your system - and connecting you with your music on a deeper level.
There are a few places left for our immersive listening event at the shop on Saturday, November 16th (11am-4pm). You'll experience three high-end hi-fi systems. The main system has the YG Acoustics Hailey 3 Reference Loudspeakers powered by the Vitus Audio SIA-030 Integrated Amplifier.
Find out more details and reserve your FREE place here, or call Alex: 0208 440 9509
We’ve added new items to our Ex-Demo Sale - there are some great savings on high-end hi-fi from British brands such as Naim, Linn, and Exposure. Click here to explore.
Don't forget to take advantage of our Winter Trade-In Offers. There are four deals from YG Acoustics, Linn, Bowers & Wilkins & Wilson Audio. Get money back on your hi-fi to invest in something brand new!
Take care,
Dean & Alex
P.S. We've got an exciting event planned for December, our last of the year, where we look East, to the Land of the Rising Sun...

Lowering the Noise Floor
Your music, on a deeper level
“The signal is the truth. The noise is what distracts us from the truth.”
- Nate Silver, US political forecaster
Read our special feature on audio products to help you 'lower the noise floor' of your hi-fi - reducing vibrations & eliminating any electrical noise getting into your system - and connecting you with your music emotionally.
We’ll look at the three ways you can achieve this by applying the three key principles of LTNF: 1. Acoustically, 2. Electrically, and 3. Mechanically.

Reliving the good old days - when the UK had a genuine underground music culture.

We missed out on tickets to see Nils Frahm when he played the Barbican this summer. This is the lead track from his live performance on the same tour in Paris. Merci Beaucoup Nils!
3. Xylitol - “Anemones” LP
Xylitol releases her debut on Planet Mu Records. For the new-age junglists.
4. The Smile - “Cutouts” LP
Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood are still making incredible music together.

Quincy Jones (1933-2024)
We’re sad to hear of the passing of Quincy Jones this week - a true Renaissance man. He produced iconic tunes from songs by Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and most famously, Michael Jackson. He was also an artist in his own right, playing jazz trumpet & piano. A favourite is the much-sampled classic “Summer in the City.”
Listen to it here.
R.I.P Quincy.

Reverb - An exhibition celebrating art & sound - until 22nd Dec.
Reverb Exhibition @ 180 The Strand, London
If you missed The Reverb Exhibition, which we featured in last month's newsletter, don’t worry! Due to popular demand, Vinyl Factory has extended the exhibit until December 22nd 2024.
This multimedia exhibition celebrates the merging of art & sound. The show’s highlights include “Hi-Fi Listening Room Dream No.1” created and programmed by New York artist Devon Turnbull. And, Jeremy Deller is showing his excellent documentary - Everybody in the Place: An Incomplete History of Britain 1984-1992.
